Paul Milsap had a game to forget during Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs against the Brooklyn Nets. The Atlanta Hawks were able to grab a victory, but Milsap only finished with six points.

Milsap responded in a big way in Game 2 by connecting on four 3-pointers and finishing with 19 points. After the game, Milsap discussed the team’s victory and shared is thoughts on Atlanta’s hip-hop scene.

How did the defense in the fourth quarter help with the clutch victory in Game 2?

Defense down the stretch did it. We were able to force them to take though shots. They have really talented players, so it was tough [defending them] but we were able to hold them to 91 points.

When you found DeMarre Carroll for the layup in the last seconds, was that you reading the defense?

It was definitely a read. I believe one of their players fell and I was open for the three. I saw DeMarre cut to the basket and we got that layup.

What was the focus on defense when Deron Williams took the last shot for the Nets?

A good player just missed a good shot. [There] was a lot on him. We forced him off the 3-point line. He turned down a high percentage shot to get the tough shot, which was the two. So it was just a good player who missed a shot.

Ludacris performed tonight, T.I. and 2 Chainz also performed earlier in the season. How much of an impact is Atlanta’s hip-hop music scene?

We listen to music before the game. It’s great to see the guys supporting us. It’s good to see our fans supporting them and also supporting us. It’s our community. When guys like that come to support us, it helps out a lot.
