Meet WE tv’s ‘Cutting It: In the ATL’ salon owners

Hold on to your edges, ladies, WE tv’s new original series “Cutting It: In The ATL” is going to have your weaves snatched after watching the drama-filled season. The show is filmed in the hair capital, Atlanta, home to some of the country’s most talented hair stylists and celebrity clientele. “Cutting It: In The ATL follows four salon owners trying to expand their businesses and take on the throne in the city’s competitive hair scene. Find out which sassy salon owner will reign supreme in Cutting It: In the ATL, premiering May 21 at 10 p.m. ESTon WE tv following the premiere of “Braxton Family Values.”

Leftfield pictures along with Brent Montgomery have whipped up an all-star cast for the show, which includes Beautii Joseph, “Countess of Class” and owner of Spoiled Opulence Salon; Maja M. Sly, “The Minister of Weaves” and owner of one-stop shop Walk-In Weaves; Dedra Allen, “The Commander-in-Chic” and owner of J’Doah Salon; and Mushiya Tshikuka, “The Natural Boss” and owner of The Damn Salon.


The salon owners are fiercely opinionated with flair like no other. During a recent premiere held in Atlanta filled with fabulous tastemakers. rolling out had a chance to catch a sneak peek of these ladies in action in “Cutting It: In the ATL’s” premiere episode. During the first episode, Maja is constructing a master plan to advance her business in theAtlanta market with the help of her top competitors and gathers Mushiya, Dedra and Beautii. What seemed like a great idea to join hair forces went sour when the other salon owners didn’t’ understand her vision for the meeting. Although Mushiya was surprisingly on board, the others were not interested in working together. The drama continued to escalate when Dedra revealed she hired Lakenya, a former stylist of Beautii’s who is currently on bad terms with her after a dispute over money. Will these ladies be able to put aside their massive egos and get on board with Maja’s plan?
