Although the saying goes, “The darker the berry, the sweeter the juice,” trends tend to show favoritism to fairer-skinned people; so, some celebrities and public figures alike often feel pressure to conform.


But how far is too far? Yes, the use of highlighting powder and good lights are the norm in Hollywood, but with products like “Whitenicious” on the rise, some celebs have been accused of using the extreme skin whitening cream.


Most recently, “The Real” co-host Tamar Braxton came under fire when fans blasted her for what they thought was the use of some sort of skin bleaching cream. In reality, the “Tamar & Vince” star revealed that she suffers from Vitiligo.
, the skin disease, most commonly associated with Michael Jackson, in which one experiences a loss of pigment, resulting in irregular white patches.

In 2013, reports claimed that skin bleaching has become so common in African communities that 77 percent of Nigeran women have used the product. You can imagine then why so many entertainers, actors and public figure have been accused of whitening their skin.
