Influenced by the Beatles, James Taylor, Wonder and Donny Hathaway, the New Orleans native PJ Morton is the son of gospel singer Paul S. Morton. As a songwriter/producer, PJ Morton left an indelible impression after winning a Grammy Award for his songwriting/production of India Arie’s “Interested” from her 2002 album Voyage to India.

Live Show Killer’s predecessor, New Orleans (2013), was his major label debut, released via Young Money Entertainment/Cash Money Records. The release reached the no.1 spot on the iTunes R&B Albums Chart and the Top 5 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. Just one listen to Morton’s music reveals why he is a favorite within the indie R&B circuit and an in-demand songwriter/producer. On July 29 at the Highline Ballroom, Morton performed cuts from Live Show Killer which was recorded at the historic Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles in early May 2015. Morton also performed fan favorites, surprise covers, and some hand-picked selections, including songs from his 2013 album New Orleans, which earned him a Grammy nomination for collaboration with Stevie Wonder on “Only One.” The 18-track live-in-studio album includes special guests Tweet and Mali Music.
