Dr. Dre’s son, Curtis Young, reveals he’ll play a rapper in an upcoming biopic. Young didn’t have the opportunity to play his father in Straight Outta Compton, but he recently revealed to XXL that he’ll tackle the role of a rapper in the upcoming Dogg Pound For Life biopic.
Young made it clear that “There’s no sequel to Straight Outta Compton,” adding that “This is the Dogg Pound For Life movie. I’m cast to play my father. That is official. Right now they’re looking for funding. There are talks with 50 Cent and some other people. The script is pretty much done. I can’t really speak on the characters but I just got photos of who’s going to be playing who. I’m just really excited to be a part of it.”
As previously reported, Daz Dillinger recently revealed that 50 Cent may even want to get involved the film, but first and foremost, Young says, they have to get it funded. “We’re all at the beginning stages. We’ve got to get it funded, but they’ll get it funded. It wouldn’t make sense for someone to not fund that movie,” he continued.
Young joins a long list of celebrity rappers and producers with crazy talented sons. Hit the flip for more hip-hop moguls with gifted heirs.
