Health experts and celebrities gathered at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel for iHeartMedia’s Lifestyle Health and Wellness Expo. The Nov. 7 event focused on spreading information on nutritional eating, fitness, and other healthy lifestyle tips.

Public personalities came out to discuss the important of leading an overall healthy life, such as R&B singer Ashanti, TV host Dr. Mehmet Oz, celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins, radio host Angie Martinez, Chef Carlo Filippone, Chef Bill Telepan, and more.

“What iHeartMedia has done … is make this event a celebration of life,” Dr. Oz said.

Ashanti discussed her new project with FLOTUS Michelle Obama, the #DrinkUp campaign, which encourages others to drink more water. Fans are able to hear her new song, “Let Go,” after using the hashtag #DrinkUpAshanti.

“We really want to motivate people to continue to drink more water,” Ashanti said. “It’s the cool choice, it’s the sexy choice, and it is actually very healthy.”

Jenkins provided very informative advice to the audience about nutrition.

“Instead of focusing on what you need to take out, focus on the nutrients that you need to have,” she explained. “For example, when you have breakfast, you can have some broccoli or a side salad with your eggs. We always think with eggs we need to have some fried potatoes or something in that sense, but instead, get those fibers and high nutritional value. These are alkalizing to the body.”
