On Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, the D’s local hip-hop radio station FM98 WJLB and the Salvation Army held their 33rd annual Coats for Kids charity event at the Masonic Temple Theater in Detroit. The event was a major success and a fun-filled Saturday for hundreds of inner-city children.

This year, the city garnered the support of Detroit’s own Big Sean and Dej Loaf as well as R&B artist and “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood” star Omarion. Local celebrities also supported the cause, including the young hip-hop sensations Lil George and FoolBoy Marley of BMB entertainment, Coin Handlers premiere artists Sino and Ro Spit, budding songstress Neisha Neshae, rising rap artists Zeus Irons, Kash Doll, and IceWear Vezzo.

The event was sponsored by Metro PCS among others and raised well over $50,000 with a special $20,000 donation made by the Ford Motor company to purchase coats for kids this winter.
