Celebrity makeup artist Mimi J recently opened the Glamatory makeup store in Atlanta. She sat down with rolling out at the third annual Family Dollar Fabulous event to discuss the opening of her store, being a brand ambassador for Colgate at the event, and her possible return to “Love & Hip Hop” as a makeup artist.
Can you tell everybody why you’re here and what is going on with you?
Sure. So, I’m actually here today with Colgate Optic White, which I brought some product with me, and I have my Colgate Red on today.
So, I’m here today with them. And my activation is Style Your Smile. So, I’ve been doing lipstick makeovers while talking about the brands. But [as for] what’s going on with me, I am still working on lots of shows, so I’ll hopefully be returning to “Love & Hip Hop” soon.
So, where exactly are you located?
Yeah, I’m in the Vinings in Smyrna. Right here in Georgia at 1675 Cumberland Parkway, Suite 408 in Smyrna. And you can also catch it online at www.glamatory.com
You guys just do makeup and that’s it?
No, actually, the front part of my store is a retail side. So, I sell brands like Becca, Kevin O’Kline, a local brand named Pink Digger. So we have retail.
How many stylists do you have?
I have six. I have a lash extension person, and she also does brows too.
And where can they follow you?
They can follow me at MimiJonline. And that’s for everything on social media.
