Detroit Lions star Ziggy Ansah brought a few teammates along to the city’s Starters Bar & Grill this week to participate in the 4th Annual Lions Den Holiday Dinner.

Ansah and friends teamed up with Microsoft and two local businesses, The Gentleman’s Box and retailer Pink Pump, to help to brighten the holiday season of almost 100 young residents of Covenant House Michigan, a youth homeless shelter. The Lions’ members graciously served up dinner while the youth enjoyed an evening of entertainment and games provided by Microsoft. A number of necessary items such as lotion, shampoo, socks, and more were also donated by the two local businesses.

“Giving is the real reason for the season. We are honored to be able to give back and help the communities in which we serve and live in,” said Gentleman’s Box CEO Chris George.

Kelly Kirkwood of Pink Pump echoed George’s sentiments.

“I was eager to participate in this year’s 4th annual  Lions Den Dinner.” Kirkwood said. “Giving back is a reflection of our brand’s promise and as a business owner. It’s my job to support and be engaged in community initiatives.”
