More than three decades ago, Geeling Ng got her big break when she scored a role in a music video for one of David Bowie’s greatest hits, “China Girl.” The beauty reveals her shock and sadness over his death earlier this week.

“I didn’t know David was ill,” she told the New Zealand Herald of her shock over Bowie’s death. “He was really charming, really wonderful,” she said. “During the shoot, he had to try and make me feel comfortable because we were playing boyfriend and girlfriend, so we needed to establish some kind of relationship. He was giving and chatty.

“I’ve admired him for ever and ever and ever and I was starstruck and he made me feel really comfortable,” added Ng, who went on to perform with the legendary musician in Paris and around Europe. Adding that she’ll forever be indebted to Iman’s late husband. “He’s the man who changed my life completely.”

On Sunday, Jan. 10, the singer, songwriter, and actor succumbed to cancer, an illness he battled for over a year, just two days after his 69th birthday.
