On Saturday, Jan. 23, Toni Braxton opened her life to the cameras on Lifetime’s highly anticipated biopic Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart. Named after one of her Grammy-winning hits, the made-for-TV movie, which Braxton executive-produced, took an intimate look at the 48-year-old singer’s career, which spans 23 years.

In 1996, Braxton released her self-titled debut with the help of Babyface and L.A. Reid. The album reached platinum status 8 times and nabbed three Grammy Awards, including best new artist. Her sophomore studio album, “Secrets,” released in 1996, won two Grammys and was also certified 8x platinum. However, despite her pop-star status, Braxton faced some true financial woes, heartbreak, and pain.

Needless to say, the WEtv reality star’s biopic was heartfelt, painful, and a social media success. Fans were on the edge of their seats as they watched the “Braxton Family Values” star tackle everything from music to motherhood to bankruptcy.
