DeVon Franklin and Meagan Good have been one of Black Hollywood’s most beloved couples since they tied the knot back in 2012, especially because of their Christian values. However, on Valentine’s Day, Good came under fire from a fan who thought her attire was a little too sexual, and Good’s husband made headlines after defending his wife.

According to media reports, Franklin and Good were at One Church in L.A. to promote their new book, The Wait, which is about their decision to wait until marriage before they had sex. While chatting with fans, one woman criticized Good about the way she dresses.

“This is not offensive, but I was at the grocery store and I looked at a newsstand and saw you — and you had your breast showing. I wasn’t gonna come here, I wasn’t, but the Lord brought me here to see you. You’re beautiful. You are a beautiful young woman and your testimony is awesome. It’s awesome. Amen. Amen! The Lord let me come and push past the judgment, because you have to make sure what you say and what you do match up, you understand? So, we’re gonna cover up, right?” the woman said to Good.

That’s when Franklin transformed from a pastor to a fearsome and protective husband as he defended his wife’s honor.

“Wait a minute — no! No. Nuh-unh. That is not what we’re here for. She’s not gonna cover up. She’s going to wear what she wants to wear in the name of Jesus…amen. Amen? Amen. Yes she will! God bless you, we love you, I love you dearly but she has been as Christian as she is right now when she wore whatever she wanted to wear, so no we ain’t doing that!” Franklin said.

He then added, “Y’all about to see another Devon that y’all ain’t never seen! Remember, I’m from Oakland now!”

Word to the wise, never try to criticize a man’s wife right in front of him, even if you try to hide it under constructive criticism.

WOW! You it is wise to be mindful what you say. When you speak ill of another being, you do realize you are speaking ill of yourself? We all are connected!

Girl, stfu. You were just over in another thread calling an elder an “old banana peel” or something to that effect and called Janet Hubert an ape or silverback. So, unless you are perfect, keep talking. Hew was not always a pastor and admits to he himself falling short before he became a minister.
