See Zoe Saldana as Nina Simone in 1st ‘Nina’ trailer

First look at Zoe Saldana’s controversial portrayal of the late music icon Nina Simone, including her rise to fame, tribulations, and redemption due in part to her close relationship with her manager, Clifton Henderson (David Oyelowo).

The film also co-stars Mike Epps and Ella Thomas.

Nina hits theaters April 22.

if we want diversity in hollywood, we need to go out and see this movie if it’s good. it doesn’t matter if a black latina has this role. nina simone was a complex person and the fact that anyone is even putting her story on the big screen is a miracle in itself. if we don’t support and bitch and moan about her being too light, etc., the people in hollywood have another reason to say we aren’t serious and we get a whole bunch of clownish comedies instead. it’s called acting, it’s wigs and make up. diana ross looked nothing like billie holiday, who was a mixed race, light skinned black woman, but people loved her in ‘lady sings the blues.’ we need to support if the movie is any good.

It does matter that THIS BLACK LATINA (Zoe Saldana) is doing the part. WHY would any CLOWN Director put her in this role. Here are the problems (Zoe Saldana), is not a black person that associates with BLACK PEOPLE. She is married to a WHITE MAN. She as never been immersed in black culture.

THEREFORE…I will not be watching this movie and will not ask any others to watch this movie.

Power must be handled in a correct manner. PUTTING OUT GARBAGE is not the answer. This movie is garbage.
