The Oprah Winfrey Network is really doing a great job adding new television shows to their roster. Flex and Shanice Wilson were more than excited to receive news that a third season of their OWN reality TV show was ordered to debut in the summer of 2016. Shanice has been working particularly hard on her new EP, which is being executive produced by Grammy nominated producer Mali Hunter, who is also the GM of Treesound Studios.

Mali invited a handful of music moguls, media representatives, and Atlanta tastemakers to come together to experience a live performance by Shanice introducing the audience to some new music she’s been working on. At the listening event, it was clear that Shanice’s voice is not only golden but she’s also definitely one of those artists who simply gets better and better with time. While her husband Flex wasn’t present, Shanice took the stage and addressed her guests in her nervous, schoolgirl voice and introduced the crowd to some of her new material. I especially enjoyed hearing her perform “Lonely in California.”

Shanice initially got on stage and thanked everyone for coming out, but then she began searching for actress Terri J. Vaughn. “Terri? Are you here? Has anyone seen her?” Shanice asked the crowd. Once she found Vaughn, she thanked Vaughn for introducing her to Hunter and their blossoming friendship.

The event was sponsored by Corona, Martell and Cholula. Shanice debuted her new songs before the crowd and then took them down memory lane with “Your Smile.”

Will you be watching Flex and Shanice this summer on OWN?
