This week the Oxygen and Liquid Soul Media invited Atlanta’s elite media press, journalists and bloggers together for a special mixer and sneak peek of the show. Attendees participated in an intimate Q-and-A with cast members Big Tigger andBlair Meyers and met assistants Amber Grimes (assistant to Nick Cannon), Rian Parish (assistant to Big Tigger) and Drekia Glenn (assistant to Bu Thiam).

One of the questions posed to Amber Grimes was what her initial response was when she was asked to be on the show. Being the boss lady Amber Grimes is and (former assistant to Bu Thiam) she admitted she had to give it consideration, especially since this would be her second go-round at being an assistant. For a minute she thought it would to be a step backward with all her successes in life. However, after mulling it over she considered the pros really outweighed the cons as 1) she would be appearing on national television expanding her brand; 2) she could probably learn a thing or two from Nick Cannon; and 3) she viewed it as a challenge to broaden her learning experience in the industry. With no regrets Grimes admitted it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of her life and it was definitely a learning experience. She thanked Oxygen and Nick Cannon for the opportunity.

Afterward, VIP guests were invited to join the cast and media for complimentary specialty cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres. Of course a party isn’t a party without the OMG photo booth. VIPs in attendance included Brian and Domonique Scott, “The Sisterhood” (TLC Network); Nick Nelson (Liquid Soul Media); Ryan McCormick (NBC Universal); and pianist-conductor Jason Ikeem Rodgers of Orchestra Noir.
