Last night was one for the history books as the Real Love Music Experience started as an ’80s, ’90s type of R&B event, which definitely means it brings out a more mature crowd than would typically be attending Scales 925. Now don’t get me wrong, there are still young people who love real music and some R&B youth with young parents who can party with their parents all day long. But when you have a roomful of old-school people, and Dave Tolliver and Gemini Porters on the stage, you definitely don’t expect to see Rich Homie Quan walk in and take a seat.

Everyone had to do a double take like, “Is that Rich Homie Quan?” Yes, he and a friend slid in and enjoyed the headliner, Men at Large. Quan stood up a couple of times to pay homage as Dave Tolliver was hitting those high notes. It’s been alleged Quan has been secluded in the studio for the past couple months working on his own album.

I guess he’s been keeping busy despite the allegations that he and Young Thug have been on the outs lately, according to several videos where Thug was calling him out. We didn’t get a chance to ask him since it seemed he was truly enjoying himself and we didn’t want to be a buzzkill.

Actress-producer Terri J. Vaughn and her husband, actor and former NFL player Karon Riley were also spotted in the building.

The night seemed unusually long as Dave Tolliver invited his friend Joe from the Rude Boys to accompany he and Gemini Porters on the stage for a song about “Your Momma,” describing her as the only one who will be there regardless of what happens in your life. Socialite realtor Sarah from WE tv’s “Selling It In the ATL” was spotted enjoying the music and networking. Robin Dyke (“Mother Funders” Bravo TV) was there for support as well. Overall, it was a great night as usual. Special thanks to Andrew Prince for the invite and Southern hospitality.

Dave Tolliver discussed the release of a new single on iTunes. He and several other artists combined their efforts to create an album where the proceeds would strictly go toward educational funding for the youth.
