Nothing makes a parent prouder than to see their child overcome a great obstacle. One of those moments is best captured when witnessing a child succeed in academia. While many parents have the chance to experience such an occasion, it’s oftentimes magnified if the scholar is a celebrity spawn.

A celebrity kid’s academic career often has similar elements. It’s generally highly publicized, as it’s of high interest where the scholar may want to attend college. Oftentimes, Ivy League schools are involved, since the rich and famous can afford the best education for their offspring. Lastly, it’s very respectable and intriguing to some of the public that a celebrity’s child would choose to work hard getting their education instead of simply riding on the coattails of their parent’s fame and fortune.

Proud mother Erykah Badu posted a throwback photo of Seven and his father, rapper André 3000, after the teen recently received acceptance letters from four colleges of his choice. The singer announced the good news on Twitter, writing, “Makes parents feel good. Dream worked.” She mentioned her son will be majoring in psychology, art and science.
