Coming in at No. 7 on BI’s list is the University of Southern California, the state’s oldest private research university. The school’s main campus in located in Los Angeles and includes several programs, such as business, law, engineering, social work, and medicine. LeVar Burton, best known as an actor in the television miniseries “Roots” and the children’s program “Reading Rainbow,” studied drama at USC.
