Brooklyn Botanical Garden hosts Sakura Matsuri Festival

The Brooklyn Botanical Garden recently hosted the Sakura Matsuri Festival, which celebrates blossoming cherry trees and comicon-anime like enthusiasts dressed to impress for the coming of spring. This event was packed as the botanical garden boasted some of the most extravagant cherry blossoms this writer has ever seen. If you weren’t dressed like you belonged to an anime cartoon series, you could simply enjoy live music and an assortment of local food vendors while taking a walk under the cherry blossoms.

Personally, I enjoy the idea of dressing up like someone else even for only a day and was excited to find some of my favorite fictional characters at this event, such as Blade and Snake Eyes (from G.I. Joe). Now all I need to do is find a costume for next year’s festival that won’t be used for Halloween.
