The Detroit Opera House is celebrating 20 years of Culture and Community. The iconic landmark hosted its annual BravoBravo! extravaganza last week in honor of the 20th anniversary of its restoration. Presented by Fiat, the premier event attracted an audience that was as diverse as the array of fine food and cocktails. Almost 100 restaurants and beverage vendors were on hand, offering up treats for every palate. Each inch of the illustrious space — inside and outside — was filled with fun, food and fancy fashions.

Attendees received star treatment as they entered on the red carpet with glasses of Moët to start the night. True foodies were in heaven, munching on some of Detroit’s best cuisine while an abundance of adult beverages, made the night even more festive. Photo booths, selfie stations and a virtual green screen were available to capture the memories.

The eclectic mix of entertainment provided a unique experience that kept the crowd entertained. DJ SuperClark commanded the entryway, while house band Nuclassica wowed partygoers with their electro-pop covers and dynamic violinists. Aerialists and ballerinas brought a whimsical vibe to the scene and ONEFREQ had everyone feeling their frequency with covers of hits like, “Poison” and “Return of the Mack.”

Flexing her Wonder Woman skills, DJ Lynda Carter’s set ranged from house music to pop. The upper levels held the VIP lounge along with DJ Mike Todd. The late spring evening weather was perfect for mingling on the outside lot that rocked with more house and techno music.  DJ Godfather ended the night with a super dope mix in the main area.

Home of Michigan Opera Theatre, the Detroit Opera House gathers residents to enjoy great performances. With the largest stage in the state, the schedule includes opera, dance, Broadway, rock, jazz, and blues, along with dozens of Detroit graduation ceremonies.

If you missed this year, make sure that you catch BravoBravo!’s encore next year. Check out the gallery, you may spot someone that you know.
