Twitter loses it over #HeterosexualPrideDay

On Wednesday, June 29, #HeterosexualPrideDay trended on Twitter, throwing all kinds of shade at this month’s LGBT Pride events and, according to many, totally missing the point.

To be clear, Heterosexual Pride Day is not an actual event. However, the hashtag, which seemed to backfire quickly, drew all kinds of reactions, from memes and couple photos to full blown attacks on straights.

Even “The Daily Show” got in on the action writing, “Any recommendations for neck cramps from smh too hard?” For the best (and worst) reactions to #HeterosexualPrideDay, hit the flip.

Man, why can’t people just let the LGBT community live? It’s like everytime a group expresses their pride or desire for equality, the opposing group gets angry. Just like some white people saying “All Lives Matter” after the “Black Lives Matter” movement began. Like some insecure men getting mad at feminists. Why do heterosexual people even care what “gay” people do? Regardless of what you believe, just try to open your heart to everyone.
