President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama paid tribute to the five fallen police officers who were gunned down during an attack last week in Dallas. A crowd of over 2,500 attended the interfaith memorial which took place at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas.

President and First Lady were accompanied by Former President George W. Bush and wife Laura Bush, and Vice President Joe Biden and wife Dr. Jill Biden.

President Obama made an effort to bridge the gap between law enforcement who are paid to protect and serve and Black communities that have witnessed abuse at the hands of cops. “I believe our sorrow can make us a better country.  I believe our righteous anger can be transformed into more justice and more peace.  Weeping may endure for a night, but I’m convinced joy comes in the morning,” President Obama said.
