Earlier this week, hip hop fans across the nation were talking non-stop about the return of Vh1’s “Hip Hop Honors” special, which honored a slew of female legends in the hip hop industry. However, one legendary rapper who wasn’t honored was Foxy Brown and she let it be known earlier this week that she wasn’t impressed with the show or her absence from the honors.

For those that don’t know, Vh1 paid tribute to four female legends in the hip-hop game this past weekend: Missy Elliott, Queen Latifah, Salt N Pepa, and Lil’ Kim. And to help pay tribute to those women, Vh1 called on Remy Ma, Teyana Taylor, Eve, Monica, Lil Mama, Dej Loaf and many more to perform some of the greatest hits from those four women.

However, two legends that weren’t honored at this year’s show were fellow legends Foxy Brown and Lauryn Hill. And this week Foxy took to Instragram to vent her frustration over her and Hill being omitted from the ceremony. In her post, Foxy blasted the network as being just a “reality show network” and she claimed that the show wasn’t up to her standards.

“THANK YOU Beloveds! I Love You Guys Dearly! I Awoke This Morning, Oblivious And Shocked At Our Fans Across The World’s TRENDING Outrage At (Reality Show Network) @VH1’s Non-Inclusion Of LAURYN HILL & FOXY BROWN. Anyone Recognized, (Whether The Contribution Big Or Small) I Applaud. Personally, I’d Prefer Being Held To A Much Higher Standard In My Walk, But Fans Went Ballistic; The PEOPLE Have Spoken! We’ve Been Blessed To Set The Bar At It’s Highest Heights; Most Notably Receiving The 2016 Historic “KEY”To My CITY of BROOKLYN…..Therefore, Humbly Speaking The CALIBER Of HONOR I’d Aspire To Are Those “UPPER ECHELON”. After All Guys This Is VH1!
Truthfully, The Only Accolade That Truly Matters To ME Is Of The MOST HIGH.
Rest Assured, I’m In The Studio Perfecting This Incredible Return. Humbled And Blessed To Kill It Again! My Girl L BOOGIE (My Fav) And I, Have The Dopest Convo, Cracking Jokes In Our Caribbean Accents As She Prepares For An Amazing Overseas Tour.
So, Actually Guys Let’s THANK @VH1 As We Are Definitely #TheDifference!!!! I LOVE MY FOXNATION! Fox!
@platinumcamprecords @donpoohmusic,” Foxy wrote.

Well, now that she’s posted such scathing remarks about Vh1, we doubt that she’ll be honored in any later Hip Hop Honors tributes.

What do you readers think of Foxy’s shade? Let us know in the comments.

    no one likes to be excluded especially when it is something you feel you made a difference in and having been involved. I bet that’s where the slight come from in the comment, however once you put it out there on Social media outlets in cyberspace it out. So hope VH1 can understand on both account but i’m sure apologies need to be made on both sides. then look in who or what made up the decision to include and exclude certain entertainers perhaps that’s what needs to be changed

    Maybe Lauren was included and she just showed up three hours late like she does for most of her shows!
