Nick Cannon gushes over TLC’s Chilli amid dating rumors

Has Nick Cannon found himself another leading lady?

In case you missed it, earlier this week, the New York Daily News reported that the 35-year-old “America’s Got Talent” host (who is in the midst of divorce proceedings with Mariah Carey) was spotted kissing Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas at WDKX’s Summerfest Concert in Rochester, New York. According to a source over at E! News, the pair began “hanging out romantically” earlier this summer.

On Thursday, July 14, the father of two was all smiles when asked about Chilli while chatting with E! News’ Carissa Culiner at the premiere of “Gleason,” a documentary following former NFL football player Steve Gleason, who after being diagnosed with ALS, starts to record video journals for his unborn son.

“She’s amazing,” Cannon said about the singer. “She’s an outstanding person but you gotta ask her what’s going on.”

“I’m new to this! How does this whole thing work?” he continued. “Right now I’m damaged goods. I need to be repaired.”

When Culiner poked and prodded for the status of Cannon and Chilli’s “relationship,” Nick said, “Ooh, you used the ‘R word already?”

“That is definitely my friend, someone I care dearly for,” he added. “I’d be so lucky to be able to…be called dating someone like that.”

Meanwhile, Chilli, 45, has not yet commented publicly about the dating rumors. As you may recall, Cannon, who filed for divorce from Carey in December 2014 after six years of marriage, is still very (legally) married. He and Carey share 6-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. Since their nasty split, the “Infinity” songstress has moved on with Australian billionaire James Packer. In fact, the duo got engaged several months ago.

Cannon is “happy for them” and the twins “like Packer,” who “treats them well,” an insider told E! News in January. What are your thoughts on a possible Cannon/Chilli love connection? Sound off in the comment section below.
