Peter Thomas and Cynthia Bailey’s marriage has been hanging on by a thread for months, ever since a video clip leaked last year of Thomas inappropriately touching another woman at one of his sports bars. And Bravo cameras documented the grueling roller-coaster ride that Thomas and Bailey’s marriage had turned into. And although the couple tried for months to work things out, earlier this month, Bailey revealed to the world that she had decided to file for divorce. Understandably, Thomas was devastated by the news and now he’s opening up about his thoughts on the breakup.

As previously reported, Bailey made the divorce announcement online, saying “I still root for him. I want him to win. I still love and support him. We are just not going to be married anymore. I am really at peace with my relationship with Peter because I really feel like I gave it all I could give.”

Yesterday, Thomas stopped by the “Wendy Williams Show” and spoke about the surprising fact that he found out about Bailey’s divorce plans the same way everyone else did: by reading about it online. In Thomas’ eyes, Bailey handled their marriage troubles and her divorce announcement the way she did because she is not the kind of person that could handle the scrutiny of reality TV.

“Again, our whole marriage was on the show and it’s not easy to live that life when every time I go out, if I’m with any staff member, someone’s saying I’m doing this or do that. So she can’t deal with the ridicule of that. I don’t think she was built for that,” Thomas said.

Later on, Thomas explained that he loved being married to Bailey. However, he doesn’t think that she ever really settled into life as a married woman who has to “compromise” with her husband.

He added, “I don’t think she embraced [marriage] much for the fact that she’s been single all her adult life and been independent all her adult life,” he said. “So, getting married at 42 when you now have to compromise and you have to share decisions and all of that, I don’t think she really embraced it the way I did.”

But that’s not all that Thomas spoke about. He also gave his thoughts on his two least favorite “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast mates. Read what he had to say about them after the cut.
