Chicago’s beautiful people were out in full force at “Cocktails with Claire and Miss Diddy LA” recently. The event was held at the 19 East venue in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago. The event was an opportunity for aspiring business owners in fashion and design to come hear the experiences and learn from a group of successful people in their respective fields.

Claire Sulmers of FashionBombDaily; Miss Diddy of The Brand Group; celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff; Bobby Simmons, former NBA player now an entrepreneur; and radio personality Kendra G were the group of experts on hand. The conversation was inspiring and informative. Dj MJ Jones provided the music for the event and kept the vibe energetic. We asked a few of the panelists what they thought the hottest trends in fashion were in fashion right now. The answers covered many aspects of fashion, everything from sneakers as mentioned by Sulmers and natural hairstyles as mentioned by Miss Diddy LA. The general consensus is that people are becoming more comfortable with who they are and how they express their style.

“It was an awesome afternoon of socializing, shopping and sipping on prosecco after the panel discussion, which was extremely informative. I truly appreciated the how to balance work life discussion. I also had the pleasure of meeting the always haute Claire Sulmers,” said blogger and social media strategist Chelsea Harvey about the event.

The sunshine-filled day spilled into the venue, making the colors more vibrant and the styles more defined. Take a look at the pics below to see how Chicago does it.
