How Do You Increase Engagement on Social Media?
As social media brands grow every day, one of the most common questions is how to increase engagement. After all, it’s pointless to grow followers, subscribers, or fans if no one is interactive with your brand. Everyone seeks engagement but many forget the first rule of social media, be social. Simply, give what you want to receive. The easiest way to get more engagement on your business page is to make yourself visible in the market. This means you can’t post and just wait for others to visit your page to talk to you.
Here are three ways to boost the conversation:
1. Use calls to action.
A call to action is anything that asks your audience to do something. This can be asking them to share, repost, visit your website, tag a friend, or comment, so be sure to use action words so there isn’t any confusion on what the action should be. Vary your call to actions so that your audience doesn’t become blind to them over time.
2. Get social.
This is the most common action that is often overlooked. Visit other pages, like, comment, and share genuinely. It will bring the right type of attention to your page and encourage others to do the same things for you. You can’t expect to receive what you’re not giving so build a community  not only with your tribe but with others in your industry.
3.  Use your other platforms.
There are many different platforms available to build your social brand, so though you may have a primary one, it is still important to cross promote across your other platforms. Instagram is one of the most varied ones currently that offers the Stories feature similar to Snapchat, so you can use Snapchat to bring your followers over to Instagram Stories and vice versa. Periscope and Facebook Live are two great live streaming platforms that can be used to give out all of your social media handles. You can mention them during your live broadcast or make cards that display them.
Overall, each platform will engage differently. It is important to test out different methods to determine what works best. Regardless of what you choose, be consistent to see results.
