Today Falcon fans are still recovering from the loss of their Atlanta Falcons team who had great opportunities to win the game against the San Diego Chargers; especially since there were two different quarters where they were leading in double digits. Matt Ryan probably wanted to kick himself when he threw that interception in the third quarter. This was the turning point that gave the Chargers the upper hand.

Philip Rivers has a consistent record of being a great quarterback; which played another huge part in the win. The Chargers stayed in the game by throwing passes underneath, which really contributed toward them ending up with 30-27 score midway through the fourth quarter after starting the fourth in the lead.

The throwback Falcon black Jerseys worn by the players seemed appropriate as it was Atlanta Falcon Alumni Day as well. Keeping in line with the old-school theme, former President Jimmy Carter was standing front and center when the game opened with the national anthem.

During the halftime show, several former players escorted out breast cancer survivors as the Falcons and the NFL payed homage to the survivors in honor of October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All the men looked great as they marched on the field arm in arm with a survivor. The cheerleaders covered the field and it was raining pink on the field. What a beautiful sight to see.

Bob Whitfield, Chuck Smith, Jerry Tuggle, Ray Buchannan, Warrick Dunn were just a few of the Dirty Birds that hung up their feathers for a hot pink shirt as they each had a very important date to escort across the field during the halftime show. What better place to promote breast cancer awareness than a stadium filled with over 67,000 seats to a television audience of over seven million viewers.

Prior to the game starting, the NFL sponsored an Alumni Day party at the Legends restaurant where former Falcons from the past 15-20 years came from all over the world to meet up. It was a joyous family reunion type of meeting.

Check out the gallery of photos with more alumni and game action after the break.
