Strong women are the name of the game on TV these days. So, when it came to selecting an actress to play Roger Murtaugh’s hardworking and loving wife Trish, in Fox’s “Lethal Weapon” reboot, it’s no surprise they’d look to Keesha Sharp — best known for her role as Johnnie Cochran’s wife, Dale Cochran on “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.”

In the series, based on the hit buddy cop action comedy movie franchise, Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs (played by Clayne Crawford) suffers the loss of his wife and baby. So, he moves to Los Angeles looking for a fresh start. There, Riggs partners up with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh (played by Damon Wayans Sr.), who, recently having suffered a “minor” heart attack, must avoid stress in his life.

Meanwhile, Sharp, 43, plays opposite of Wayans as his perceptive better half, who’s less than thrilled about his new adrenaline-crazed partner, Riggs. As fans know far too well, Sharp’s role was originally played by Darlene Love and Murtaugh by Danny Glover. For five things to know about the action star, hit the flip.
