According to a recent report from New York City Alerts, Troy Ave (Roland Collins) was shot multiples times in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn around 5 p.m. on Christmas evening. The 31-year-old rap star was reportedly shot in the arm and the head while en route to visit family in his hometown of Brooklyn.

The gunman approached his red Maserati and opened fire while he and his girlfriend were stopped at a light. Ave drove himself to Brookdale Hospital for immediate treatment just six blocks away. Longtime rap mentor 50 Cent visited the rapper at the hospital.

“Dope boy Troy all good, Merry Christmas,” said the rap mogul on social media.

The headshot just grazed him and Ave’s lawyer John Stella stated the injuries are not life-threatening and that he is currently in stable condition.

“He looked to his left. He saw that the guy had a gun and was about to fire, and he started driving away,” Stella said. “He continued driving and he reached the point where he was bleeding pretty profusely, and apparently a good Samaritan drove him and his girl a couple of blocks the rest of the way to Brookdale.”

Sources speculate the incident is a response to Ave’s involvement in the Irving Plaza concert shooting last may leaving one victim dead and several critically injured. The rapper was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon. The case is still developing.
