On Friday, March 10, a pregnant teen was reportedly killed by a train while posing for a photo shoot on the tracks. Hailing from College Station, Texas, Fredzania “Zannie” Thompson, 19, was attempting to launch a modeling career when she was struck in Navasota, Texas, about 60 miles northwest of Houston, The Eagle reports.

“That’s definitely what she wanted to do,” her mother, Hakamie Stevenson, told the newspaper of her daughter’s modeling dream. “It’s what she had started to do the day she was [killed].”

Meanwhile, witnesses told officials that Thompson was hit at the intersection of two train tracks, waiting for one train to pass, when she was hit by another. She died on the way to a local hospital.

According to Thompson’s fiancé, the expectant mother, who would have celebrated her 20th birthday on Monday, found out about her pregnancy just weeks prior to her tragic death.

Thompson’s loved ones described her as both “very helpful to her siblings,” and “very outgoing and made sure that everything was taken care of with them. She was a leader,” Stevenson continued.

On Saturday, March 18, Thompson will be laid to rest in the Oakland Cemetery in Navasota, Texas, her obituary reads. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. Share your condolences in the comment section below.
