If you are looking for a solid full-size truck option, you should consider taking the 2017 Nissan TITAN for a test drive. This fully redesigned TITAN offers plenty of power and strong acceleration with its standard V8. Whether you are on a daily drive through the city or towing a heavy load in the country, the 5-6-liter V8 puts its 390 horsepower to work, which fares well with its 7-speed automatic transmission.

We had an opportunity to test the 5.6-Liter Endurance V8 SL 4WD crew cab (priced at $51,015), which included the optional SL towing convenience package (extendable, folding, heated tow mirrors with auto dimming capabilities; a trailer brake controller and trailer light check function). Even with the towing package, one drawback is its maximum towing capacity, which is lower than its competitors. Even though that is the case, it can still pull a decent load and it won’t feel forced while doing so.

Offering an aggressive new look, the Nissan TITAN is available in 4×2 and 4×4, featuring three cabin configurations – the Crew Cab, King Cab and Single Cab. Even though it’s a heavy-duty work truck, the interior feels upscale, especially on the higher trims. The spacious seats will provide enough room for everyone to be comfortable in the front and rear of the cab.

The standard interior features in the TITAN include Bluetooth, a USB port and the NissanConnect Infotainment system with a 5-inch display screen and smartphone integration. Our tested model boasted a Rockford Fosgate Premium Audio System with 7” color display and 12 speakers.

For such a large vehicle, the Nissan TITAN provides a smooth ride, but during that ride don’t count on great fuel economy. It gets as EPA-estimated 15 mpg in the city and 21 on the highway, which is somewhat inferior to many V8-powered competitors in its class.

MSRP $49,460
