Director Kathyrn Bigelow on stage with several members of the film’s cast, including Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, who opened up the show

Last night, Detroit shined bright like a diamond on the global stage as Hollywood came to Detroit for the world premiere of the highly anticipated film Detroit. Academy Award-winning director Kathryn Bigelow brought the docudrama to life for the 50th anniversary of the infamous 1967 Detroit riots. The film is a dramatization of police brutality during the riots and focuses on the murders of three teens at the hands of the police at the Algiers Hotel.

Rolling out was on the red carpet and got a chance to talk with several cast members and snapped some photos along the way. Check out the photo gallery below to see some of the star power that was in the building.
