This past weekend Drexina Nelson celebrated the launch of her book The Society Industry. “LA Hair” reality star and beauty expert Gocha Hawkins, make up artist LaTasha Wright (The Wright Way), nail expert Pucci, hair stylist and make up artist to the celebrities Alicia Igless, natural stylist Mushiya Tshikuka (WeTv’s “Cuttin in the ATL”), and Jasmine “Razorchic” Collins are just a few names featured in this book.
Nelson is a celebrity photographer who has published photos of Ludacris, 50 Cent, Kenya Moore, Rasheeda, Lance Gross, Teyonah Parris, Adrienne Bailon, Demetria McKinney, Angela Simmons, Kandi Burruss, Keisha Knight Pulliam, Chloe and Halle, Queen Harrison, Evelyn Lozado, and a plethora of celebrities.
Before moving into her new studio, Nelson opened a hair salon to make sure she would be able to add in her glam team when conducting photo shoots. The Society Studio is a new production space, event space and a photography studio.
Overwhelmed with the success of the night, Nelson took to Facebook to thank everyone that cheered her on and showed support:
I am FLOORED with the amount of love and support I felt last night at my book launch event. This is such a dream come true. So honored to have the beautiful honorees come out and show support.
