Prevalence

  • Number of people living with diagnosed HIV in 2015: 25,457
  • 73 percent of people living with diagnosed HIV in 2015 were men, and 27 percent were women.
  • 43 percent of people living with diagnosed HIV in 2015 were black, 44 percent Hispanic/Latino, and 11 percent white.

New Diagnoses

  • Number of new HIV diagnoses in 2015: 1,343
  • 80 percent people newly diagnosed with HIV between 2011 and 2015 and 20 percent were women.
  • 36 percent of people newly diagnosed with HIV between 2011 and 2015 were black, 53 percent Hispanic/Latino, and 10 percent were white.

Mortality

  • Number of deaths of people with diagnosed HIV in 2015: 352
  • Number of deaths of people with diagnosed HIV in Florida in 2014: 1,916
