The Young Belle Project is a mentoring program targeted towards empowering young girls through its mission — “Building an Extraordinary, Liberated and Luminous Essence in Young Women” by giving them the essentials needed to plan and execute successful lives. The Young Belle Project was founded by Tiffany Brown in 2013.

On Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, The Young Belle Project and The B Firm PR hosted the 4th annual Be-You Empowerment Brunch at Paschal’s Restaurant in Atlanta. The event brings together women and girls in a safe space, offering a delicious brunch buffet and dessert bar and genuine conversation.

“I have to [do this] because these girls really do look forward to it and I host it the same weekend every year. It’s the beginning of the year and it’s kind of something to give these girls and especially because coming from the holidays, can be really depressing for their families or depending on what they’ve been through and this is really helpful to help them pop out,” said Brown.

The event was moderated by Miss Black Atlanta USA. The attendees had an opportunity to hear from a panel of ladies with diverse backgrounds and career paths. The panelists included celebrity makeup artist Brandi Mallory, Erica Diaz of the B Firm PR, youth advocate Karri Turner, Dana “Truly Inspired” Martin — founder and CEO of Spoken 4 Causes Inc., Pearis Bellamy — 2018 Miss Black Virginia USA, and Jeresha — an entrepreneur in the world of education.

The women on the panel were transparent in sharing the trials and tribulations of their lives to try to inspire and encourage the young girls. These women contribute to their community in a positive way. The reoccurring theme shared by these women during the brunch was resilience and the fact that adversity is an inevitable part of life.

In the future, Brown wants to expand the brunch to communities outside of Atlanta.

“Coming forward for 2019, I want to do more of these, so definitely expanding the brunch and bringing on a little tour because I feel like it’s more than just girls in Atlanta. We have girls all over so it’s about making those connections to bring the Be You Brunch everywhere eventually,” Brown went on to say.

Brown will continue to use The Young Belle Project to expose, engage, and empower teen girls for future success.
