Grace, skill and beauty shine at CMDC’s 2nd annual fundraiser Because We Can
The Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center (CMDC) represents a pillar of the community. With the leadership of Homer Hans Bryant, many youth have been kept from the stresses of growing up in Chicago and exposed to a different world through the beauty of dance. Bryant created a dance style called “hiplet,” a fusion of hip-hop dance and ballet. The expression serves as a visually stunning presentation.
We spoke with student Jayda Perry and asked what CMDC means to her: “CMDC means a lot to me. It’s been my second home for 11 years now. Who knows who I’d be without CMDC. The art, the encouragement, and the discipline. It’s all a huge blessing.”
Recently, CMDC had its second annual fundraiser, Because We Can. Check out a few pictures from the event below.
