The art work of Charles White is currently being exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago. Charles White: A Retrospective was launched recently with a private exhibition. White was born and raised in Chicago and rose to prominence in the mid 30s and 40s. His artwork captures a true sense of Black culture with a consistent yearning for freedom and equality. The exhibit is presented at the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth.

The launch at the Art Institute of Chicago was attended by notable business owners and influencers. Kerry James Marshall, who recently sold a painting to hip-hop mogul Sean “P Diddy” Combs for $21M was also in attendance.

The exhibit runs from June 8 to September 3, 2018 before it will travel to the MoMA in Manhattan.
