As far back as Cari Roots can recall, fashion has captured her attention. In 2013, she began to live out her passion when she left behind a long career in the world of banking and finance.

Today, she is known professionally as Layllah Style, and she has distinguished herself as one of Atlanta’s style influencers. Roots works with fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands to create digital style content. Although she is no longer in the business world, Roots is passionate about helping women to dress and feel their best in the corporate world.

Her dynamic style has acquired her major clients, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Target, Make Up For Ever, Maison Margiela, Viktor & Rolf, and Becca Cosmetics.

Enamored with timeless fashion, she teamed up with her sisters to launch an online boutique, House of Layllah. The stylist consigns well-kept vintage pieces from her closet. On her blog, she shares how to wear pieces for several occasions and from work to play. With numerous projects up her fashionable sleeves, Roots is continuing to make her mark in this ever-evolving industry.

She stopped by rolling out for Friday Fashion to talk about all things fashion and explain why it is so important to build a capsule wardrobe that transitions smoothly from one season to the next. For example, she says having essential pieces in your wardrobe that can be worn with various outfits is key, and every woman should have a pair of both black pumps and a pair of nude pumps in rotation that can be dressed up or worn casually.
