AfroPunk has been defining culture for over 13 years now. AfroPunk is all about pushing forward the boundaries of multiculturalism and diversity in music. Although the festival is about music, fashion plays a large part in the festival’s culture. Over the years, AfroPunk has become a runway for Black people to express their feelings freely through fashion.

AfroPunk Brooklyn was held last weekend, August 25-27, 2018, at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn, New York. People came out expressing their melanin glory and diverse African roots. There were many recurring style themes like accented flowers in hair, Black pride apparel and bold African statement pieces. Here are some of the hottest looks from this year’s AfroPunk festival in Brooklyn.
