Tieshia “Tie” Cooper is a highly motivated and accomplished esthetician, makeup artist and human resources professional.

The Alabama native was always a natural in the beauty department. While in college at Clark Atlanta University she offered eyebrow arching services to fellow students. Cooper balanced school with training alongside her sister, also a celebrity hairstylist. Cooper gained valuable experience from some of the beauty industry’s top professionals. The opportunity allowed her to demonstrate her talents on a number of celebrities, models and professionals alike.

After attending Clark Atlanta University for a brief period, she transferred to Jacksonville University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Cooper didn’t stop there; she also earned dual master’s degrees in human resources management and training and development from Webster’s University. Today, Cooper is a human resources manager at Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.

Despite having a successful career in human resources, the artistry of makeup remains her true passion. Her foundation has allowed her to work with major beauty brands, such as Creme of Nature, on several campaigns.

The artist shares what makeup means to her this way: “To me, it’s more so an art, it is my passion. I love it. I’m a creative at heart so, to me, makeup is empowering, it means confidence. To me, makeup means you’re ready.”

Her goal has been and continues to be providing professional beauty services that surpass her clients’ expectations.

Cooper has found ways to combine her love for beauty with her desire to give back to her community through service. For example, she produces her annual Kiss and Makeup Class and Hi-BeauTea Party, which she recently hosted in Atlanta, to encourage and empower young girls and women through mentorship and scholarship.

During a recent interview with rolling out, Cooper shared how a girl from Alabama who didn’t know what a makeup artist was, grew up to become a woman passionate about the art of makeup.
