R&B crooner Pleasure P was recently arrested and charged with an assortment of crimes related to driving in suburban Miami this past week.

The “Love & Hip-Hop: Miami” star was apprehended at approximately 3:45 a.m. on December 28 for driving recklessly after celebrating his birthday. According to the Miami Herald, a Miami Beach police officer observed an illegally tinted SUV traveling 100 MPH in a 45 MPH zone in South Beach. The officer also reported that Pleasure P nearly crashed into another vehicle because of his excessive speed.

The Pretty Ricky singer, born Marcus Ramone Cooper, 34, was immediately ordered out of his SUV after he was pulled over because of the illegal tint on the vehicle windows. Officers on the scene said Pleasure P refused orders to take sobriety tests while on the scene. The police report also stated Pleasure had slurred speech, bloodshot and watery eyes, and he even admitted to the cops that he had a few drinks while celebrating his birthday.

Pleasure’s blood-alcohol level was reportedly .176, which is twice the legal limit, the Miami Herald stated.

During the stop, Pleasure reportedly demanded that he be allowed to get in touch with his lawyer and call former NBA Miami Heat player Shaquille O’Neal and rapper Flo Rida. Shaq, as the NBA legend is known as, is a former Miami Beach reserve officer.

In the end, Pleasure P was hauled to jail on charges of resisting an officer without violence, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and reckless driving.

After Pleasure P was released from jail late Friday afternoon, Pleasure spoke to his 329K followers via an Instagram Live video, where he said the law lied on him about the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

“Hey, listen. I’m all about safe driving, all that stuff,” Pleasure P said. “Recklessly driving was I? Not at all, but people are gonna say what they want to say … the officer who pulled me over, he’s gonna say what he wants to say but that’s not the truth. And we still getting lit. Round two today, turn up.”
