Get ready for your playlist to hit differently with the addition of I C U U C ME PT. II by Sebastian Mikael. It’s described by Mikael as “more jazzy, funky type songs” on which he is “experimenting more musically.” The soul-soaked follow up to 2018’s I C U U C ME PT. 1, will give listeners an instant eargasm. What fans experienced when Mikael entered the game back in 2012 was a foreshadowing of his brilliance. Following a hiatus, the sensual crooner is back and ready to unleash his authentic artistry.

During a recent chat with rolling out, the 30-year-old singer-songwriter shared how his refusal to become an industry clone gave him a familiar growing pain. “When I first started doing music, it was what I’m doing now. But, then I went through this whole musical journey of just finding myself, finding my sound and who I was as an artist. I just came back to my first love, which is soul music,” he said. “When I did ‘Last Night’ and those type of songs, I was working with other writers and other producers and I didn’t really have as much free creative control. That’s the reason I didn’t put out music for so long, I wanted to take time to really hone in my sound and figure out exactly what’s indigenous to me.”

Slip-N-Slide Records joined forces with Atlantic Records, making a better fit for

Mikael’s music. “It’s raw. It’s who I am. I want people to be inspired. The music that I have now should have been my first introduction,” he said about his latest project.

Laced with undulating grooves and mind-bending lyrics, I C U U C ME PT. II fills the void left by soul masters like D’Angelo. Noting Pharrell as “probably my biggest inspiration,” Mikael is also the product of Prince, Lenny Kravitz and Questlove. His next level soundscapes cater to the grown and sexy who don’t mind getting naughty. Mature minds will crave the calm arousal from “PSW” (P—- Stay Wet) and the bass-heavy vibe of “Time.”

Some of his future projects will involve designing a clothing line. “Painting is what I was doing first before I was even making music,” he revealed. “I’ve always been creating. Before I was singing I was just making beats, then I was playing guitar and playing keys. Being an artist to me is about being the creator; being able to create and just give you the whole right package.”
