Finally, some positive news billowing out of the Mo’Nique camp.

The caustic comedienne, who is currently more famous for the people she has beef with (Lee Daniels, Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry) than the Oscar-winning movie they made together (2008’s Precious), is in a celebratory mood after conquering her long-awaited, hard-fought fitness goal.

The 51-year-old Baltimore native got choked up when she tried to begin sharing her personal milestone of running around the track twice without stopping. She had never been able to accomplish that feat before.

“When [my trainer] first brought me out to this track, he would let me walk half and then I had to run, ” she explained. “I said to him, ‘One day, I want to be able to run around this track twice without stopping.’ Well, today was that day. I made it around this track twice without stopping.”

As the Soul Plane and Queens of Comedy alum gets revved up emotionally, she tears up again, digesting the enormity of what she accomplished.

“I’m telling y’all, if you don’t quit on you, you’ll get what you’re asking for. Just don’t quit on you. It doesn’t come overnight. It doesn’t come through no magic potion or a special wand or processed boxed meals from a weight loss program. It comes from right here [pointing to her heart].”
