Entertainment mogul Steve Harvey admitted he broke down in tears multiple times during his tour of Ghana’s slave castles where the infamous TransAtlantic Slave Trade was born.

The Kings of Comedy legend said he felt the spirit of the many West Africans who were brutalized in these castles and herded like cattle for the torturous trip across the Atlantic Ocean.

Harvey accompanied by his wife, Marjorie, visited Elmina Castle on the Cape Coast where they were getting a tour and of the trading post that was erected by the Portuguese in the 1400s. This is the latest leg of his multi-country vacation and he said he feels robbed that he never got to see home before now.

Former President Barack Obama and wife Michelle famously toured the same facilities back in 2009.

Check out Harvey’s emotional journey back through history on both his Instagram and YouTube pages.
