Meet Jatali Bellanton, founder of Kids Who Bank

What are some of the ways that entertainers can invest more wisely?

I am a big fan of real estate — here in the States or in another country. I think more entertainers should be investing in it. I also think it is great to invest in startups in exchange for equity and shares plus a return, when applicable. Sometimes it could be as simple as posting about a company and using your influence without having to use cash. They definitely need to protect their works with copyrights, trademarks and solidifying their royalties and streams of residual income because that is an investment in themselves that can have a long-term return.

I preach this to my clients all the time, really owning their smarts and understanding how much value there is to their creations. So, what is next for you?

I am excited to be teaming up with two other West Africans to create Ghana’s first-ever children’s museum which will host fun and interactive classes like e-commerce workshops, pottery, financial literacy, as well as displaying art.
