Candace Mitchell Harris’ Myavana app bridges gap between technology and hair

Beautiful women passionate about the hair industry gathered at Bio Bio, a Black-owned beauty venue in Atlanta, on Thursday evening, Nov. 21, 2019, at the launch party for Candace Mitchell Harris’ new hair app called Myavana.

Harris is a Georgia Tech graduate and the founder and CEO of Techturized Inc., a high-tech hair company. In 2016, she was named one of Forbes’ 30 under 30, which propelled her to make her brand a household name.

The evening kicked off with networking over cocktails and hair conversations. The atmosphere was filled with good energy and sparkling smiles, as women of all hues and hair textures filled the room to learn more about the Myavana app.

The fun-filled night continued as brand ambassadors for Myavana — Keri Hilson, Eudoxie Bridges and LeToya Luckett-Walker — made their way into the room. Guests hurried to get into position to learn from Harris and her esteemed panelists.

The conversation kicked off quickly as each woman describing their individual hair histories. Guests were then able to ask questions about the newly released app as well as receive tips from the brand ambassadors.

Harris shared insights on the Myavana, which was created to help women of all ethnicities fulfill their natural hair goals. For $9 a month, the app will use artificial intelligence and hair care experts to offer personalized guidance to each subscriber based on their hair needs.

“We’ve created the perfect blend of technology and science to reach your hair nirvana,” Harris said.

To bring the event to a close, guests were surprised with complimentary beauty products from coveted brands, including Kaleidoscope, Creme of Nature and more.
