Rapper Pooh Shiesty was indicted this week for his involvement in an alleged shooting and robbery in Miami after investigators spotted some incriminating pictures on his very own Instagram.

The rapper born Lontrell Denell Williams Jr., was taken into federal custody where he made his first federal court appearance on Tuesday, June 29, according to the Miami Herald.

Williams’ connection with an October 2020 shooting at Bay Harbor Island, Florida, led to his arrest whereby two men were wounded. Investigators reportedly used Instagram photos that were posted days before the robbery.

According to investigators, the pictures (now removed) allegedly show the rapper flashing guns and lots of cash inside a Louis Vuitton bag stuffed with more than $40,000 in cash. The rented lime green McLaren, also shown on his Instagram page, was the car that fled the scene matching a serial number in the photo.

Pooh Shiesty is facing charges for discharging a firearm during a violent crime, conspiracy and robbery. He will reportedly be held in federal custody until a July 6 detention hearing.

The rapper was charged and freed on bond in Miami-Dade state court in the same incident, then jailed again in a different incident over the alleged shooting of a security guard at the King of Diamonds strip club.

“We have been in communication with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and we believe they have a federal detainer on him and are likely to file federal charges,” the rapper’s defense attorney, Saam Zangeneh, previously told the Herald. “That doesn’t change our position as to his 100 percent innocence, in both state and federal matters.”

At press time Zangeneh and a spokesperson for Williams had not returned requests for comment.

Williams, as well as two other men — Bobby Brown and Jayden Darosa — reportedly arrived in a rented McLaren to pick up some sneakers and marijuana. Brown allegedly shot the two men — one in the hip, and the other in the buttocks — according to the complaint. The complaint also alleges that Williams used a Draco machine gun in the shooting and “never paid either victim for the shoes or marijuana.”

One of the other men involved in Jayden Darosa’s Instagram also showed photos of him holding the same weapon used by Williams in the incident.
