OnlyFans shocked users earlier this month when the technology company announced that it would be banning all exually explicit material by Oct. 1. According to Bloomberg, the decision was made as pressure mounted from outside financial sources as the company tried to raise money from investors to obtain a valuation of more than $1 billion.

The subscription-based content provider is used by creatives and entertainers as well as adult sex workers. OnlyFans maintains that it wasn’t created exclusively to host adult content although that’s where a lot of their revenue and fame was generated from. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and caused shutdowns across the world in March 2020, the site reported that 60,000 new content creators signed up that month, a 75 percent jump according to MSNBC.

OnlyFans will reportedly allow creators to still post nude photos and videos, provided they are not pornographic and consistent with OnlyFans’ policy. “Taste” hitmaker Tyga wasn’t feeling the restraints and abandoned the platform where he has over a million fans tuning into him on the app. Tyga reportedly made around $8 million on a $20 per month subscription package on the site. T-Raww announced on Friday he was launching his own platform with a few partners that is similar to OnlyFans called MyyStar where creatives will have more control.

“Just deleted my OnlyFans, starting my own platform @myystar8 more futuristic, better quality & only 10% fee. Creators will also be able to make content of their choice!,” Tyga announced on his social media platforms.

MyyStar will be open to explicit content as well and its new Instagram account already has over 84,000 followers. It also has new website at www.myystar.com where creatives and members can apply to join the platform which is slated to be up and running by October. Creators will have the ability to sell NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, as well as features relevant to the music industry on the platform.

Tyga partnered with creative director Ryder Ripps of OKFOCUS, to lead the design of MyyStar. Ripps was behind the branding of VFILES, 88RISING, and worked with Travis Scott at Cactus Jack and as a lead for Kanye West’s creative content company, Donda.
