Steve Urkel, the classic ‘90s sitcom character, will be returning to our television screens.

Former child star Jaleel White, who starred in the Black family-favorite “Family Matters,” will be reprising his role as Steve Urkel in an animated Cartoon Network special, “Did I Do That to the Holidays? A Steve Urkel Story.”

In the special, Urkel manages to ruin the holiday festivities. Attempting to rectify things and save the day, he creates an invention that only makes things worse. In order to find a solution and fix everything, he must find the real Santa.

The quirky character Urkel was introduced to all of America in 1989 on “Family Matters” and quickly became the most popular character in the sitcom which ran for nearly 10 years. White was only supposed to be a guest on one episode but that changed as he became everyone’s favorite character.

Wyatt Cenac, the writer and executive producer of “Did I Do That to the Holidays? A Steve Urkel Story,” has also written for “The Daily Show” and “King of the Hill.” Bryan Newton, the director of “Rick and Morty” and “Teen Titans Go!” will serve as supervising director and executive producer.

The special is set to air this month for Cartoon Network’s ACME Night of block programming debuting on Sept. 19.
